After having such a bad experience at an area Mexican restaurant in Martinez; thrilled to have found Taqueria Y Carniceria! The other place seemed ideal for sit-down dining. But I felt like a VIP the minute I walked in and ordered from the counter. They still seat you, and bring you all the food, and fixings. The place was field with happy families & workers. Bonus, you can buy meats and produce to take home and cook too from their market. I'll be back!

Praise be the taco gods that brought up this heaven on earth!! We live down the street and decided to finally try it out. I got two carne asada tacos and a side of rice, and it was the closest thing to actual tacos I Mexico that I've had in years. On top of that, the service was incredible and very fast! They even brought our Togo order directly to us. The meat is fresh, lean and absolutely delicious! Cannot wait to go back.

Amazing meatball soup! The owner is very nice and offered catering options for the upcoming holidays.

Food was delicious and service is great. Love the ambiance as well! Will come again! Indoor and outdoor seating available.

Hidden bc Gems! Mother's Day's brunch. First time at this place, every thing was delicious , best indicator, none of us were talking, or just to share how delicious their food was. I will definitely come back!

If you're looking for true authentic Mexican restaurant, look no further because you've found the place. The whole ambiance of the place feels like you're in Mexico. Besides the restaurant they're an actual Mercado where you can buy the meats that they serve and other goodies such as chips and pastries. Menu is great, all the good Mexican food you can think off they have it. The service is superb, fast and delicious! Bonus reason to come here is the drink selections that they offer. From buckets of beer to Micheladas. You will not regret this place. 10/10!!

Came here tonight since we moved into the neighborhood and everything was great chips and salsa or 10 out of 10 bean dip 10 out of 10 My husband ordered a super wet burrito with Birria meat and I ordered chicken taco Carne Asada taco and a crispy shrimp taco. The chicken taco was the best out of all of them. Then the Carne Asada I wasn't too much of a fan of the shrimp, but the service, and everything else was amazing and we will definitely be returning and trying new things, you can tell it's a family owned business and everything was exceptional. Definitely recommend to try this place.

Alert: Neighborhood Gem Located off of Pacheco Blvd in Martinez they are housed in a colorful building that stands out from the rest of the area. If you somehow miss the building, use your nose and follow the smell from the outdoor grills Carnitas, asada, pollo, and Al pastor are all delicious. Pick either one since you cannot go wrong. Burritos and tacos are delicious especially the tortillas.

We came for the carniceria and stayed for the taqueria! Our original (but pleasantly failed) plan was to buy some of the raw meat they have at the front counter to take home and make tacos. When we pulled into the parking lot, we saw some of the cooks barbecuing pastor outside on a spit and it looked heavenly. We walked into the restaurant itself and a friendly hostess asked where we'd like to sit. It was at that point we abandoned our homemade taco plan and went out to the back porch to eat. The porch area is covered and so cute! There's a nice herb garden adjacent to the seating area and a friendly cat lounging around who accepted my head scratches, which is an automatic win in my book. The food and drinks were incredible. My husband got a michelada and we both ordered the soft taco plate with different meats. I got pastor, lengua, and suadero and he got pastor, chicharron, and suadero. They were all great and easily comparable to the tacos we ate in Mexico City. My husband also got a quesabirria taco on the side which came with consommé. It was also delicious. Overall we are very happy we failed at cooking at home and will be back again!
